| It's some interesting reading isn't it? It helps make a point that I had been saying all along. An intersting note in there that I didn't catch before was that Alex Ross stated that from 1985 until 2000, with the stats that were tracked, revealed that the number of Western Pleasure entries was declining. What I've noticed at Reality is that the number of Western Pleasure classes is actually increased over the last year and a half or so. A lot of the exhibitors that are showing at the open shows are riding these horses that are mentioned in this article (very slow, canted towards the rail, etc). Could this increase in open show exhibitors still pinning high with this look be a result of the breed organizations shaking things up? |
